William R. Lancaster, Esq.

With over 40-plus years of litigation experience, William "Bill" Lancaster brings extensive experience and knowledge to Outside Chief Legal (OCL) and its clients. Bill has tried over 100 jury and non-jury cases to judgment in Alabama and Mississippi. Bill also advises businesses and their owners as outside counsel, specializing in employment-related issues. Bill is a qualified Mediator and Arbitrator and regularly mediates cases in the South Alabama Area.

Bill was born in Memphis, Tennessee, raised in Arkansas and Mississippi, and has lived with his family in Mobile, Alabama since 1991. Bill attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, graduating with honors with a B.A. in History. While at Millsaps, he was a three-year letterman in varsity football and was involved in various honor societies. After college Bill attended the University of Mississippi School of Law. While in law school, Bill was vice-chairman of the Moot Court Board and participated in the Federal Trial Practice Clinic.

After law school, Bill moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi where he engaged in a general practice of law in practically all areas of civil, criminal, and administrative law. Eventually, he focused on the defense of civil damage claims arising from automobile accidents, industrial accidents, and medical claims involving allegations of hospital or physician negligence. In 1991 Bill and his family moved to Mobile, Alabama, where Bill continued representing clients in the defense of civil claims arising from all manner of causes of action, including medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and employment claims.

Bill is active in the Alabama State Bar and Mobile Bar Association and has been on the Board of Bar Commissioners of the Alabama State Bar for several years. He and his wife Angie live in Mobile and enjoy trying to keep up with their blended family of five children and seven grandchildren (with more on the way!) when they are not enjoying the Coastal Life or paying way too much attention to SEC football.
