Robert J. Riccio provides nearly 20 years of business-minded counsel in tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and estate strategies. Known for guiding clients through high-stakes transactions and sensitive business transitions, Bob combines precision, insight, and confidence in advising executives, business owners, and families. His deep expertise spans estate planning, fiduciary disputes, and tax-exempt organizations, while his commitment to service and professional leadership sets him apart. Robert J. “Bob” Riccio brings nearly 20 years of extensive experience advising business owners, executives, and families on matters critical to their long-term success. His practice spans complex tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, business succession strategies, and estate planning. Clients rely on Bob’s ability to navigate both sophisticated transactions and sensitive family business transitions with precision and foresight.

In addition to his M&A and tax-focused work, Bob offers significant experience in estate planning, trusts, fiduciary disputes, and the representation of tax-exempt organizations. He is a seasoned advocate before federal, state, and local taxing authorities, helping clients resolve high‑stakes tax controversies with confidence.

Active in both the legal profession and the community, Bob serves on the Standing Committee on Trusts for the Alabama Law Institute and on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Federal Tax Clinic. He also contributes his leadership to the Estate Planning Council of Mobile, Junior Achievement, and the Mobile Chamber of Commerce’s State Governmental Affairs Committee. Bob’s commitment to service is further reflected in his recognition as the 2015 Volunteer of the Year by the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program.

Bob earned his LL.M. in Taxation from NYU School of Law and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law. A Certified Public Accountant, he has authored numerous articles, presented widely on tax and estate matters, and was nationally honored with the ABA Mendes Hershman Award for legal scholarship.

A member of the Alabama State Bar since 2007 and a Leadership Mobile graduate, Bob exemplifies the caliber of counsel we strive to provide our clients.
